EP is pioneering transformative solutions in rural education. Firstly, by actively engaging communities, it fosters accessibility, interest, and high-quality education for disadvantaged children.
3
The project unites the entire rural community—parents, panchayats, and youth—towards comprehensive education goals and holistic child development.
4
The need of SEP endeavours is due to a variety of social, economic and cultural reasons including:
- Social attitudes towards education and children;
- Parental indifference, ignorance, bias, illiteracy, fear and poverty;
- Distance of schools from the residence;
- Lack of responsive basic facilities for children in schools;
- Early family and sibling responsibility on children
- Irrelevant school curricula;
- Girls Empowerment Programme –GARIMA running in 250 Villages and in 400 Schools
5
There are specific solutions SEP is bringing in rural geographies
- Getting children closure to quality education - By opening SEP community-based learning resource centres, called LRCs, in places near the residences of the children; by appointing women teachers; by adapting child friendly practices; and by involving the parents and local community.
- Ensuring good quality of education by placing specific attention on each child, by improving their learning achievements through innovative and meaningful education and thereby encouraging them and their parents.
- Enlisting their participation in higher level education (upper primary and above).

SEP members are committed to the cause of education. We are passionate about its benefits. This is our way of giving-back to society. Therefore, all office-bearers and steering committee members bear their own expenses personally for travel, stay, meetings, etc. undertaken for SEP activities, coordination and monitoring.

Notably, educated girl/women volunteers ensure individualized assistance and care, nurturing the children’s overall well-being. Committed to educational quality, we establish outcome-cantered systems through trained volunteers, leading to broad-scale improvements.
8
Innovative methods like activity-based/project-based learning and science fairs bring contemporary education to rural areas, addressing the digital divide through extensive e-learning interventions.
9
Collaborating with specialized agencies, SEP builds a skilled volunteer pool, particularly empowering women to catalyse positive educational changes.
10
The project supports government schools, enhancing teacher training, science education, and parental involvement.

Focused on marginalized girls, we ensure age-appropriate education and uplifts their status. In a holistic approach, the project monitors each child’s educational journey centrally, guaranteeing tailored development and progress.
