Sankalp Ek Prayas Learning Resource Centers (SEP - LRCs)
Over the last 16 years, through its relentless efforts, Sankalp Ek Prayas has developed a chain of more than 500 local community-based Learning Resource Centres, where more that 60K children in class up to 10th are groomed through various interventions making they equipped with contemporary skills and 21st century competence.
Sankalp Ek Prayas (SEP) selects villages in highly disadvantaged areas, sets up learning resource centres(LRCs), monitors their functioning, trains and retrains community teachers and helps garner funding so that more and more children have a chance to get quality education and holistic childhood upbringings. SEP has developed a proven model consisting of learning centres, curriculum, teachers training, teaching modules and implementation expertise.
SEP ensures that the education has requisite quality and is child-centred and gender-sensitive. It is based on a curriculum that is relevant to the needs and reality of learners, and relies on trained teachers equipped with appropriate learning materials. SEP LRC (Learning Resource Centre) is held in a child-friendly environment – one that is safe, clean and conducive to learning and play. SEP LRCs are expected to not just impart education in its narrow sense but, more broadly, to mould children’s attitudes. All efforts are made that values, compassion, and tolerance, concern towards others, respect for cultural diversity, gender sensitivity and health education are integrated in the curriculum.
