PROJECT GARIMA

The Dignity of the Village, the Identity of Every Life

The Garima Project run by Sankalp Ek Prayas is a dedicated and empowering initiative aimed at making women, adolescents, boys and girls living in rural areas aware of their rights, health, hygiene and education. This project is not limited to spreading awareness, but it is a campaign of social change, which is working towards realizing the concept of ‘Adarsh Bal Gram’.

We believe that when the most vulnerable and neglected section of the society – especially rural adolescents – can confidently express their views, know their rights and start taking responsibility for their body, mind and future, only then can the foundation of a strong and sensitive society be laid.

Under the Garima Project, we go from village to village and organize awareness workshops, health and hygiene dialogues, self-defense training, open talks on adolescent health, and sessions related to rights-based education. Not only children, but women, teachers, parents and panchayat representatives also actively participate in these activities. Our aim is that every village becomes a safe, educated and respectful environment, where every child, be it a boy or a girl, can move forward with dignity. This project gives birth to the thought where change does not remain only as a slogan, but makes its place in every home, every school and every mind.

Garima is a symbol of our collective efforts; it is a spark that is spreading as a ray of light for change in rural India.

Voices of Dignity

Empowering Women, Engaging Communities, Building Equality

At the heart of GARIMA initiative lies a safe and sensitive platform where women can speak openly and confidently. Led by trained local leaders known as Garima Didis, the program fosters trust through cultural understanding and shared experiences. Group discussions and interactive workshops become spaces for learning, storytelling, and support. By involving men and the wider community, the initiative promotes a more inclusive dialogue on gender equality — one rooted in respect, awareness, and collective progress.
